Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a multilateral initiative that aims to provide an international platform that brings together open government reformers to create Action Plans that make their governments more inclusive, responsive and accountable to citizens. In 2016, OGP piloted a local program which was fully scaled in 2018. Elgeyo Marakwet County has been a participant since 2016 and recently, developed its second action plan with five commitments running through 2020. Center for Innovations in Open Governance, with the support of the OGP Trust Fund, managed by World Bank, collaborated with Reboot and local civil society to facilitate the county’s Action Plan development.
CIOG Kenya continues to support open government efforts in the county.
